Our friendly, knowledgeable student services staff are here to help support you in as many ways as possible. Whether it’s academic advising, career advice, learning strategies, speaking with a counsellor or an array of other services, we will provide you with access to the resources you need to be successful.
Fanshawe Toronto’s Co–op and Career Services department has been crafted with international students in mind. Whether you are joining us with previous work experience in your chosen industry or are yet to gain professional work experience or are looking for a career reset, the resources and support provided by Co-op and Career Services will help you find your path.
We consult with recruiters, hiring managers, and HR professionals throughout the year to ensure that we are sharing up to date advice and aware of trends and changes across different industries.
Our goal is to provide the support and guidance required for students to become changemakers, executive leaders, and founders. We encourage students to plan ahead so that they can develop the skills and experience required to secure professional employment during their studies and upon completion of their studies.
As well as providing career services support, the department also oversees the co-op, placement, and internship aspects of our academic programs.
Active Fanshawe Toronto students are enrolled into a specialized course on Canvas (LMS) titled Career Services and remain enrolled in this course throughout their studies.
This course allows students to access co-op and career development related resources that will allow them to:
Students can upload documents such as resumes, cover letters, mock interview videos etc. to Canvas and receive either written feedback from Co-op and Career Services staff or can book individual appointments with CCS to discuss in person or remotely via a video conferencing platform such as MS Teams or Zoom.
If students are unable to attend appointments during the advertised times due to school or work commitments or are yet to arrive in Canada or are in a different time zone, please email Co-op and Career Services with your availability (date & Toronto time) to arrange an appointment and we will try our best to find an appointment slot that works for all parties.
We encourage students to be proactive and take part in workshops to gain a general understanding, and to then utilize the Canvas course to access further resources, and then to upload documents and gain personalized advice from Co-op and Career Services during appointments or asking for written feedback.
Sessions covering co-op work permit applications, PGWP information, PR (Permanent Residency) pathways are co-delivered with our internal immigration consultant.
We offer a variety of housing options to suit your needs and preferences. Each year thousands of students make the most of their ILAC experience by choosing an accommodation they can call home.
